We just love winter in Cornwall but, unlike the summer
holidays when just a swimsuit and sunscreen will do, winter is a little different!
So, we say, come prepared and make the most of your stay at Country View Cottages with our
handy “what to pack for winter list”.
A sense of adventure
Let’s face it… it will rain and…. you will get wet, very
wet! So, grab your wellies and your waterproofs and get out and about exploring
everything Cornwall has to offer!
One of the reasons we love winter is it means it’s time to
wrap up warm and pull out the bobble hats, woolly jumpers, scarf’s and gloves.
Perfect for that afternoon coastal walk, followed by a delicious hot chocolate or winter
warmer in a cosy beach cafe.
There are some great places to eat that are just a short
drive away from our barns, whether you are looking for fine dining or something
on budget or a simple take out, we have it all. Just a short drive away from
Barns near Newquay you will find such delights as Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall, Lewinnick Lodge, The Pavilion Boatshed, Bush Pepper, Senor
Dick’s Mexican Restaurant and that is just to name a few of our favourites
At our Tresooth
Farm Barns near Mawnan Smith by Falmouth you also have a fantastic range
of places to enjoy with The Ferry Boat Inn, Giuseppe’s, Rick Stein’s
Fish, The Cove again, your
options are endless.
Your four legged friend
Winter is a great
time for a family holiday with the dog.
Cornwall becomes a dog’s playground as
the beaches are deserted and the dog bans are lifted, so not only will your
pooch be loving life jumping waves and playing catch you’ll have over 400 beaches
to choose from! Take a look at some other great places where you can wonder with
your four legged friend this winter.
Exhilarating, romantic, dramatic! These are just a
few of the words that describe Cornwall’s beaches during the winter months with the stormy serenity providing the perfect back drop for some amazing
And finally….. Don’t
forget your toothbrush!
